In Terms of Food and Energy Armenia is in Better Condition Than a Number of European and American Countries: Deputy Minister of Economy

At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Regional and Eurasian Integration moderated by Armen Gevorgyan, the Report on Implementation Process and Results of the RA Government Programme for 2021 (2021-2026) approved by the N 234-A Decision of the RA Government on February 28, 2022 was debated.

The RA Deputy Minister of Economy Arshak Aslanyan presented the profile programmes of the Ministry.

It was noted that during 2021 the total goods turnover between the RA and other countries was 8.4 bln USD, growing it to 17.7%. The export was 3 bln USD, increasing it by 19.1% against 2020, and the RA import – 5.4 bln USD increasing it by 16.9%.

The deputies have tried to clarify what steps the state undertakes for supporting the entrepreneurs in this economic hard situation and boosting the economic growth. In overcoming the created crisis, the exact evaluation of the situation and the use of the relevant toolset were highlighted.

“Today, our country is in a better condition than a number of European and American countries in terms of not only food, but also energy,” Arshak Aslanyan said.

The RA Deputy Foreign Minister noted that in 2021 the inner trade in the EAEU was more than 72.6 bln AMD. The indicator is 31.9% more compared with the one in 2020.
